Five mistakes that cost easy points

3) Ignoring register. A message to a landlord or office needs polite forms. A note to a flatmate can be simpler — but still complete.

5) No time check. Leave three minutes to reread names, dates and whether every bullet is covered. That reread saves more marks than a fancy connector.
